For The Young Career Seeker – How To Set Up An Informational Interview

In Part 1 of this series, we met Janet and Cori who were both in different places in their careers. Janet, as you may recall, is a brand new grad who is fresh out of school, pumped, and ready to make her mark in nursing. Cori, on the other hand, has been a nurse for a while and is suffering from a bad case of burn-out; as such, Cori has become restless and dissatisfied in her current position. She wants a change but is not sure about what she must do to find her dream job. Both nurses love nursing and want to continue in their chosen profession, helping people. Our challenge is to share different aspects of job hunting that will help them strategically find, apply for, interview, and land their dream job. Thus far, we’ve discussed seven job search strategies.

To build up a social network of your own business connections is relatively simple. After free and immediate approval, you are a LinkenIn member. Then you are taken to your own large profile sheet to fill in your credentials, present and past employment, and what you are seeking. There is a lot more information to fill in and revise that is helpful for promoting yourself and for others to see value. After all, making a plentiful amount of quality social networking business connections is the purpose of joining.

The greatest part is that many of your clients are more than happy to give you all the praise in the world because you helped them into their dream home. Not only does that reinforce your image as “their” real estate agent, but if any of your prospects come your probability of conversion just sky rocketed!

Choose easily digestible foods that won’t just sit as a lump in your stomach. These might include fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, and oatmeal. You do not want to fill up on biscuits and gravy.

Most Compete with me and others here would only require you to do basic tasks like that of a clerical job, thus, they just offer menial pay. That is why do not set your expectations very high. Do not be disheartened either. Choose to do your job with a smile and a happy heart.

NOTE: Professors are great referrals because if they are impressed by a student, chances are an employer will be too. Professors teach hundreds or thousands of students each year. If they think you’re a standout, I guarantee an employer will think you’re outstanding. While you’re still in school, and even after you graduate, make it a point to be on good terms with your professors.
